Yellow Flower removes wind and heat from the head and body. It helps clear lingering inflammation in the head
and body following a viral infection such as a cold or flu.
Lingering inflammation in the head and body after a cold or flu infection in the upper respiratory tract is also called
post-viral syndrome. It is a commonly occurring condition caused by the immune system still being active even
though the cold or flu virus is cleared. In such “post-viral” cases, pro-inflammatory cytokines can remain elevated
long after the virus is cleared, causing continued inflammation. The heightened immune activities can also
damage the tissue triggering sustained inflammation in the body and head area including the nasal passages,
sinuses, eustachian tube, forehead and brain.
This "post-viral" state can cause symptoms of continued fatigue, headache, sore throat, yellow phlegm, ear
pressure, sinus congestion, pressure behind the eyes and forehead, and brain fog that may last for weeks after
the acute illness has cleared. In some cases, tiny fragments or reservoirs of the virus may remain in the tissues
for weeks or months, triggering continuous immune response.
